Lavender Sachets
- Cut a 4-inch square from a handkerchief to make one sachet.
- With the pattern side up, fold three corners toward the square’s center.
- Hand-stitch the sides together. Turn the sachet inside out, press, and sew a button atop the flap.
- Fill the pouch with dried lavender, then secure the flap with some hidden hand-sewn stitches.

- Directions:You should begin your decorative throw pillow assembly by first measuring and cutting your fabric to your sizing needs, making sure to allow about 5/8’’ extra for seams all the way around. For example, if you want a 12x12 square finished pillow, measure a 12 5/8’’ x 12 5/8’’ square piece of fabric. You will need to cut two fabric pieces; one for the front, one for the back, or you can choose to cut your fabric on the fold line and eliminate the need to sew an extra seam. If you will be adding any embellishments like jewels, ribbons, buttons, etcetera, you may find it easier to sew them on to the fabric before you sew the seams or stuff the pillow.Once you have any decorating complete, pin the fabric together with wrong sides facing out. Sew all seams at 5/8’’ leaving just a small 6-8’’ gap where you will add the stuffing in. If you’re using an existing pillow, sew all sides leaving enough room to slip the cover over the pillow you are covering. Turn the pillow case right side out and stuff or cover your pillow. Once your pillow is covered or stuffed to your liking, pin the last of the open seam together and carefully run through the sewing machine, or stitch closed by hand.
